Chutzpah! Festival Dance Performance

Sointula is hosting a wonderful group of dancers for two weeks this month as part of the Chutzpah! Festival Youth Engagement Project. Donald Sales and his company of dancers-Sarah Brinson, Katie Cassady, Taylor McAuley and Rebecca Margolick-are here rehearsing and working with the local area youth and the community.

We were very lucky to have them in our school last week. They shared with us a small part of their piece called “gR33N” and then taught two dance classes for the primary and intermediate students. It was a wonderful afternoon. Take a peek!

Don’t forget, Visual Arts with Betty and Iris at the F.O. Hall this afternoon and I hope to see many of you at the performance this weekend.

  1. Wow!

K/1/2/3/4, it looks like you had a great deal of fun. Chutzpah! is well named because it means extreme self-confidence boldness. Their dance moves looked great in the video.

Dance is very big at my local school. Their dance group will be performing at our area’s Performing Arts Festival in July.

With your school year almost over and summer vacation about to start, I hope you all have a wonderful vacation and come back ready for many new learning adventures in the new school year. 🙂

  2. Thank you for the reply, Merissa.

At present, I am editing the video clips I took at the Performing Arts Festival I mentioned. It was run over two nights and involved over 550 students from 13 schools. The schools range from a one teacher school (Wyndham) up to a high school with over 800 students (Bega High).

Dance was an important part of the festival also including singing and musicians. I hope to have the two DVD set ready in about two weeks so I can deliver them to each school. I must remember to send a copy to your school. This would make their show international. 🙂
