Skyping with Pottstown, PA

Today we Skyped with Mrs. Schmidt, and Mrs.Okuniewski and her grade 3 class.

We found out a lot about their school and their state. Here is a comparison of our two schools:
*Their school is much larger than ours is. They even have more than one grade 3 class!
*Their school goes from preschool to grade 8. Our school goes from K to grade 7.
*They are learning about animal habitats in science. We are learning about animal life cycles and adaptations.
*They are three hours away from the Atlantic Ocean and we are surrounded by the Pacific Ocean.
*They get about 70 inches of snow in a year and even miss school because of snow. We average 5.5 cm of snow a year and we sometimes miss school because of power outages.
*They were disappointed when Philadelphia lost to Chicago in the Stanley Cup finals last night. Some of their students stayed up late to watch the game. Some students in our class watched the game too.
*Their state bird is the Ruffed Grouse and ours is the Stellar’s Jay.
*Their state flower is Mountain Laurel and ours is the Pacific Dogwood.
*Their state animal is the Whitetail Deer and ours is the Kermode Bear.
*Students in their class like Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Captain Underpants books. We like Captain Underpants too.
*They like to collect Silly Bands just like another class we Skyped with did. One of their students showed us all of her Silly Bands. Her favourite was a pink bunny.
