Flat Canada

Today we used Google Earth to find the classes that will host our Flat Stanleys next month. We marked their locations on the Canada map in the classroom. We also got a great message from Nova Scotia on our Flat Canada blog . We are very excited about Flat Canada and can’t wait to make our Stanleys!

We are looking forward to following Flat Stanley’s adventures. Canada is a very BIG country to learn about! I wonder how many children in the class have travelled to other parts of Canada?
We are on holiday now for two weeks, back to school on October 11, and it would be lovely if we could have another Skype session next term.

    • Dear Mrs. McKenzie,
We have had a very busy start to our week with our bus trip and Smokey the Bear visit. Tomorrow we are going to talk about the different places we have been in Canada. We’ll write a post about it. We hope you are having a great holiday. We would love to Skype with your class again soon 🙂

  2. Dear Mrs. McKenzie and B4,

When we talked this morning we found out that not many of the students in our class have ever been out of our province.

Oceana and Sahara have been to Alberta.
Kennedy and Lily have been to Ontario.
Mrs. Watson has been to Alberta, Manitoba (where she was born), Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.
Several of our students have never been off Vancouver Island (the larger island we are near).
Some of our students have travelled to different countries though (Mexico, Balize, Vietnam, and Japan).

We can’t wait to send our Stanleys to other parts of Canada. We may not have been there, but Stanley will!
